The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29‑story hotel located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, connected directly to the Broward County Convention Center. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center, and over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre‑function meeting space with waterfront views.
JOB PURPOSE
Supervise the whole department, responsible for daily and monthly inventory, schedules, product ordering, and maintaining the department clean and organized.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Convey information and ideas clearly.
Work well in stressful, high‑pressure situations.
Handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
Assume responsibility for assigned shift and assist in overall management.
Supervise and coordinate assigned shift.
Assist manager in communicating new information and teaching new procedures to all marketplace associates.
Check staff punctuality.
Complete environmental checklist for dining room.
Order daily supplies or communicate inventory needs to appropriate management.
Follow up on established training steps.
Handle guest comments and complaints; ensure guest satisfaction.
Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
Observe, teach, and correct staff’s service; monitor each guest experience.
Work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
Be thoroughly acquainted with all technical equipment to fully utilize its capabilities and extend efficient service to hotel guests.
Assist with monthly inventory.
Maintain a cash bank.
Verify guest room numbers for room charges.
Interact with other departments to ensure guest needs are satisfied.
Adhere to proper food handling procedures.
Possess proper knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures.
Know and troubleshoot POS functions.
Serve guests under all Omni standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 6 months experience in a coffee house environment required; previous supervisory experience in a food and beverage environment preferred.
Previous cash handling and face‑to‑face customer service experience required.
Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co‑workers.
Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into POS software.
Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
Ability to work cohesively with co‑workers both within and outside the department.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast‑paced environment.
Become familiar with all coffee products and methods including coffee, espresso, specialty drinks, and retail items.
Work with management on special projects.
Set priorities for the team and provide feedback to others that enhances performance.
Demonstrate proven leadership skills and ability to direct, develop, and motivate staff.
Teach employees the importance of and how to greet guests and courteously solve requests.
Work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
