Hiring Immediately : Sunstates Security is hiring
Utility Security Officers
in the Charlotte, NC area. The Utility / Flex Officer is an on‑call officer position that covers posts as needed due to call‑offs, staff shortages, or client‑requested extra coverage. The pay rate is $19.75/hr, paid weekly.
Maintain detailed notes on all sites trained at to provide seamless service to clients.
Have open availability.
Work independently.
Track time for post worked and submit to Operations Manager no later than 10:00 AM on Fridays.
Have prior experience in security, military, and/or law enforcement.
Show a friendly and professional demeanor.
Report all concerns and incidents to management.
Maintain reliable means of communication for management contact.
Hold a valid driver’s license.
Flex Officer Explanation
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts that open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This allows Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers while protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations
Will be trained at various posts or facilities based on operational need; may work at a specific location for several weeks but not permanently.
Schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week) will vary based on operational need.
Assigned to or offered shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some shifts will be scheduled in advance; occasionally called short‑notice to cover for someone unable to work.
Expected to work any advance scheduled shift within the availability described on the sheet; communicate unavailability to supervisor.
For short‑notice call‑ins, must work at least 80% of called shifts. Refusing more than 20% can negatively impact employment status.
Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
