Flex Officer Position Overview
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.
Scheduling Expectations for Flex
The Scheduling Parameters and Expectations for a Flex Officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. A Flex officer:
You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week\u2019s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance within the availability described. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability, you must communicate this with your supervisor.
For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts, this could negatively impact employment status.
A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Shift Supervisor must read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
