
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Saugus Rehab and Nursing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents regain independence and improve their quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
Provide direct therapy services to residents in accordance with established goals
Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
Assist with patient evaluations and discharge planning
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and safety
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current Massachusetts COTA license (or eligibility)
NBCOT certification required
Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred, but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
