Travel Speech Language Pathologist
Fusion Medical Staffing - Therapy
Location: Facility in Piscataway, New Jersey
Start Date: ASAP • Duration: 13 weeks • Hours: 40 per week (8 hour days) • Employment Type: Travel
Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
Develop and implement individualized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices.
Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, safe swallowing practices, and provide supportive counseling when required.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions.
Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech and language therapy.
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred: Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence, and any additional certifications or licenses required for the position.
Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Strong interpersonal, critical‑thinking, and communication skills in English; basic PC skills required.
