Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN
Shifts: Various 12 hr. Shifts
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide primary care coordination for patients and implement a collaborative care plan as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Duties include: perform assessments including mental health needs; develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; ensure safety and provide consistent therapeutic milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred.
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, BLS.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification; completion of restraining procedures training within 30 days of employment.
Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), AHCA, OSHA and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements.
Physical Requirements
Move efficiently to meet the needs of several patients or respond to patient aggression; stand, sit, walk during work shift; hear spoken words in normal vocal range and respond to signals, alarms, codes; recognize vocal intonation indicating changes in acuity; bend, reach, stoop; write legibly; read instructions and complete documentation; restrain aggressive patient safely as part of a team; lift, position or move patients for searches, procedures or injections; perform activities requiring manual dexterity; lift up to 30 lbs.
