Responsibilities
Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116-bed facility located in the Kingwood community, approximately 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24‑hour emergency services and serves children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health, including intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric, and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assessing mental health needs, developing nursing diagnoses, identifying outcomes, planning and evaluating nursing care; administering and/or monitoring the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; ensuring safety and providing milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment.
Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

Qualifications
Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate’s Degree) required. BSN preferred.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
Minimum of one (1) year related experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
