Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician primarily supports the manufacturing facility’s quality control/quality assurance needs by conducting checks on raw materials, in-process materials, and final products to ensure production stability and product quality.

Key Roles / Responsibilities

Test process raw materials, materials in process, and final products.

Report all results and observations to Process Operators for appropriate corrective actions when necessary.

Operate inductively coupled plasma (ICP) and develop new element calibrations.

Select proper screens for product size corrections to maintain American Petroleum Institute and Carbo specifications.

Take corrective actions to ensure Quality Control bins are in specification.

Maintain accurate records for shipped product quality and destination

Organize samples of shipments for easy access. Generate certificates of analysis for product shipments and process shipments in SAP.

Manage laboratory equipment operations, including training, maintenance, data reporting, and interpretation.

Mentor Quality Control technicians on quality control and Research and development (R&D) issues, as needed.

Provide International Organization for Standardization gauge calibration, audit support, and Systems, applications, and Products (SAP) assistance.

Support non-typical proppant testing, such as Research and development.

Update Quality Control Data Logs.

Perform other related tasks as necessary.

Required Education, Experience, And Qualifications

Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts including nights & weekends.

High School Diploma or GED required

Demonstrated Leadership Skills.

Effective Communication Ability.

Able to Effectively Multitask During Stressful Periods of Operation.

Basic math skills are required.

Working Conditions

Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.

The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.

Prolonged periods of sitting on a forklift or other warehouse equipment.

Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.

Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed.

Able to work under stressful conditions at times.

React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.

Must be able to move and lift to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.

Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.

Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.

Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.

Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.

Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
