
C/S Corporations Assistant

Summary Statement
This is the entry level of Corporations work performing statutory review of legal corporate, Uniform Commercial Code, and franchise tax documents in compliance with the Delaware Code and assisting attorneys, registered agents, corporate representatives, and the public concerning corporate documents, legal filings, franchise taxes, and corporate fees. Employees perform the full range of Essential Functions, completing routine and standardized assignments under close supervision.
Essential Functions
Reviews and processes legal corporate and Uniform Commercial Code documents. Conducts research by reviewing UCC holdings and listings of corporate entities formed in Delaware and corporate documentation on payments and tax liabilities. Determines if legal requirements are met, corrective action is needed, and assists clients in taking necessary action to meet legal requirements.
Answers questions from attorneys, corporate officials, registered agents, and the general public concerning UCC and corporate documents, legal filings, franchise taxes, and corporate fees. Assists in resolving problems.
Conducts collection activities for franchise taxes, interest, penalties, corporate, and UCC fees.
Performs mathematical calculations relative to franchise taxes, penalties, interest, corporate and UCC fees.
Uses the Delaware Corporations Information System (DCIS) and imaging system to obtain information and make entries, changes, verification, and corrections required in processing requests for service from clients.
Conducts outreach to customers to ensure accuracy and quality of work submitted.
Completes continuing education and learns new laws, rules, and regulations whether local or federal, i.e. Sanctions, Corporate Transparency Act, or Principal Place of Business.
Compiles and prepares various reports pertaining to workload, work to be processed, refunds, reconciliation of deposits, revenue, new company, or related reports.
Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Corporations Assistant
Six months' experience in customer service such as providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to customers seeking information, answering requests as quickly as possible, ensuring customers are satisfied with service, and responding to complaints.
Six months' experience in performing office support work such as drafting routine correspondence, reports, or logs, operating office equipment, handling incoming and outgoing mail, postal and shipping services, answering phones, directing calls and taking messages, or maintaining files and supplies.
Six months' experience in math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, or decimals.
Six months' experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
OR possession of an Associate's degree or higher.
