This job description is tailored for an $8M door manufacturer in Orlando. At this revenue level, the Controller is often the "head of finance," acting as a hands‑on manager who balances high‑level strategy with daily accounting tasks like cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory management.

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and hands‑on Controller to lead the financial operations of our door manufacturing facility. As the senior financial leader, you will oversee all accounting functions, including cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting. You will be a key partner to the ownership team, providing the data‑driven insights necessary to optimize production costs and drive the next phase of our growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight:
Manage all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, Payroll, and General Ledger.
Cost Accounting:
Analyze and maintain standard costs for raw materials (lumber, hardware, glass) and labor; perform variance analysis to identify production inefficiencies.
Inventory Management:
Oversee monthly physical inventory counts and reconcile with the ERP system to ensure accurate valuation of WIP and finished goods.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide "deep‑dive" analysis into product line profitability.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow closely, manage banking relationships, and oversee credit collections to ensure healthy working capital.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide rolling forecasts based on sales pipeline and production capacity.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements (including Florida sales tax for manufacturing) and coordinate annual external reviews/audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or CMA is a significant plus.
Experience:
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a
manufacturing environment .
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, VLOOKUPs, macros) and experience with manufacturing ERP software (QuickBooks Enterprise, Quickbooks Online and Odoo).
Local Knowledge:
Familiarity with Florida‑specific business regulations and tax credits for manufacturers.
Soft Skills:
A "roll‑up‑your‑sleeves" mentality. You must be comfortable moving between the executive boardroom and the production floor.
