Role details
The shift pattern for this post is 9-5 Mon – Fri with on-call requirements. Applications are invited for this 10-session post based at Auchinlea Resource Centre and the Mental Health Campus of Stobhill Hospital in the north east of Glasgow. You would be working alongside other Consultant Psychiatrists, with trainee support, and there is close contact with other Psychiatric Consultants in the North East Division.
You would be involved in the assessment and management of patients with mental disorder within the Auchinlea catchment area as well as providing consultation and training, and you would play a key role in service development and evaluation. The post is split between in-patient and community work. The post-holder will have, or will achieve, Approved Medical Practitioner status in accordance with the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
Responsibilities
Assess and manage patients with mental disorders within the Auchinlea catchment area.
Provide consultation and training to staff and contribute to service development and evaluation.
Work across in-patient and community settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Engage in quality improvement, clinical governance and leadership activities as part of professional duties.
Qualifications
Candidates must have full GMC Registration and a license to practice.
UK-trained candidates should have evidence of Higher Specialist Training leading to a CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry at the date of interview.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
