About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for nursing services across its integrated community hospital and ambulatory network. The CNO will be responsible for establishing and upholding professional nursing practice standards, driving improvements in quality, safety, and patient experience, and leading workforce planning and talent development. This role is pivotal in the organization's transition to performance optimization and growth, with a focus on building a high-performing, engaged, and future-ready nursing workforce. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the Chief Medical Officer, promoting a culture of safety, trust, and continuous improvement, and will be expected to advance nursing excellence initiatives, including the pursuit of Magnet® designation.

Candidates for the CNO position at the company should have a Master’s degree in nursing or a related healthcare field, with a DNP or PhD strongly preferred. A minimum of 8-10 years' progressive nursing leadership experience, including senior-level responsibility, is required, with a proven track record in complex, multi-site or matrixed health systems. The ideal candidate will have strong operational, financial, and change-management expertise, and experience in unionized environments and Magnet® organizations is highly desirable. The role demands a leader with a commitment to academic excellence, evidence-based practice, and inclusive leadership, who can effectively partner with physician leaders, academic colleagues, and affiliate organizations to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the nursing workforce.
