About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to join their team. This senior leadership role is pivotal, as it is the #2 position to the CFO and offers a high level of visibility and ownership across the accounting function. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing the accounting team, overseeing all aspects of accounting and compliance, and owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. A key focus of the role is to manage and enhance financial and investor reporting, and to drive process improvement, controls, and scalable accounting practices.

Applicants for the Vice President of Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with a preference for a CPA and/or Master’s degree. A minimum of 10 years' of real estate accounting experience is required, with a strong preference for those with a background in affordable housing, HUD, or Section 8. The role demands a candidate with proven team leadership experience and the ability to work in a hands-on capacity while also providing strategic influence. The company is in a phase of rapid growth and is looking for a candidate who can step into a leadership gap and is aligned with the vision of upgrading and modernizing the accounting and finance infrastructure.
