Job Description
The Lease Operator / Pumper is responsible for the daily monitoring and basic maintenance of oil and gas production equipment across multiple well sites. This role supports safe and efficient production operations by inspecting equipment, recording production data, identifying issues, and performing routine operational tasks.
This position is field-based and requires regular travel between locations within a large operating area. Individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply. Prior oilfield experience is not required.
Responsibilities
Monitor and operate oil and gas production equipment at assigned well sites.
Record daily production data including tank levels, pressures, temperatures, and rates.
Inspect equipment such as pumps, separators, tanks, and flow lines to ensure proper operation.
Identify operational issues and report or assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs.
Perform routine maintenance and general upkeep of lease equipment and facilities.
Check and maintain fluid levels, gauges, and valves.
Ensure well sites remain clean, organized, and safe.
Drive between multiple field locations to complete daily route responsibilities.
Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production status or issues.
Skills and Qualifications
Education / Background
High school diploma or trade school training preferred.
Technical or mechanical training is a plus.
Experience
Prior oil and gas experience is not required.
Experience working with mechanical equipment, tools, vehicles, or machinery is beneficial.
Technical / Mechanical Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work.
Basic troubleshooting ability.
Ability to learn oilfield production equipment and processes.
Other Requirements
Clean background and driving record.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel daily between field locations within a large operating area.
Dependable and able to work independently.
Work Environment & Schedule
Field-based position covering a large operating area.
Typical schedule is a 5 days on / 2 days off rotation.
Limited overtime expected.
Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
