Job Summary
The ServiceNow Developer will design, develop, configure, and maintain solutions within the ServiceNow platform to support business functions across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, Software Asset Management (SAM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and CMDB. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, Develop, and Implement:
Build and customize ServiceNow applications and modules, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, and other enterprise workflows. Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using APIs, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub.
CMDB & CSDM Management:
Implement and maintain a healthy and accurate CMDB following CSDM principles. Design and maintain data models and relationships between Configuration Items (CIs) to support IT operations and business services.
Automation & Optimization:
Develop automation solutions leveraging Flow Designer, Orchestration, and custom scripting to streamline IT and business processes. Enhance platform performance, availability, and reliability through proactive maintenance and optimization.
Governance & Best Practices:
Adhere to ServiceNow development best practices, including code reviews, reusability, documentation, and compliance with organizational standards. Maintain platform integrity during upgrades, patches, and deployments.
Testing & Troubleshooting:
Conduct unit testing, debugging, and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle. Troubleshoot and enhance existing ServiceNow solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Collaboration & Delivery:
Work with stakeholders, business analysts, and architects to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
Continuous Improvement:
Research and implement emerging ServiceNow capabilities and technologies (e.g., Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent, and Performance Analytics). Stay current with ServiceNow releases and evaluate new features for adoption.
Partner with other developers, analysts, and designers to develop new software programs and applications.
Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
Perform software updates and testing.
Write programming scripts to enhance the functionality of software for assigned projects.
Schedule and perform software improvements and updates.
Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
Work with other developers across business lines to make technical recommendations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field and 4 years related professional experience required, OR Associate Degree and 6 years related professional experience required, OR High School Diploma/GED and 8 years related professional experience required.
Required Experience
Strong knowledge of computer equipment, storage, back-ups, operating systems, and tools used in an operating environment is required.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience.
Proven expertise in one or more of the following: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, CSDM, and CMDB.
Required Skills
Experience with JavaScript, Glide API, HTML, CSS, and REST/SOAP integrations.
Familiarity with ServiceNow data structures, update sets, ACLs, and business rules.
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and Agile environments.
Close attention to detail with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
