Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
ServiceNow Developer
to support enterprise ServiceNow initiatives for our client in Kansas City, MO. This role is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining solutions across the ServiceNow platform to support critical business and IT functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow Design & Development
Design, develop, configure, and implement ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, Software Asset Management (SAM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), CMDB, and CSDM.
Customize applications, workflows, forms, UI policies, business rules, and scripts to meet business requirements.
Develop and maintain integrations with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub.
CMDB & CSDM Management
Implement and maintain a healthy, accurate CMDB aligned with CSDM principles.
Design and manage CI data models, relationships, and dependencies to support IT operations and business services.
Monitor CMDB data quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
utomation & Optimization
Build automation using Flow Designer, Orchestration, and custom scripting to streamline IT and business processes.
Proactively optimize platform performance, availability, and reliability.
Support software updates, patches, and platform upgrades while ensuring system stability.
Governance, Testing & Troubleshooting
dhere to ServiceNow development best practices including documentation, code reusability, peer reviews, and compliance with organizational standards.
Conduct unit testing, debugging, and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and enhance existing ServiceNow solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Collaboration & Delivery
Partner with business analysts, architects, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
Provide technical recommendations and collaborate with developers across business lines.
Continuous Improvement
Research and evaluate emerging ServiceNow capabilities such as Predictive Intelligence, Virtual Agent, and Performance Analytics.
Stay current with ServiceNow releases and assess new features for enterprise adoption.
Perform other duties as assigned while complying with all company policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience (one of the following):
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and
4+ years
of related professional experience
ssociate degree and
6+ years
of related professional experience
High School Diploma/GED and
8+ years
of related professional experience
Minimum
3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience
Proven experience in one or more of the following modules: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, CSDM, and CMDB
Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, HTML, CSS, and REST/SOAP integrations
Working knowledge of ServiceNow data structures, update sets, ACLs, business rules, and scripting
Solid understanding of operating systems, storage, backups, and enterprise IT environments
Preferred Certifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
One or more ServiceNow Implementation Specialist Certifications (ITSM, ITOM, SAM, HRSD, etc.)
