There is a Credit Recovery Coordinator position open at Mansfield Senior High School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Primary Purpose of Position
To serve in the capacity of the Credit Recovery Coordinator and perform the appropriate essential functions and responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assist in the achievement of the short and long-term educational goals of the student and school.
Monitor learning situations in which students are receiving instruction.
Encourage students through a positive personal attitude to utilize every opportunity for a constructive learning experience.
Systematically acquire knowledge about individual students for helping them plan and conduct needed learning experiences.
Participate in curricular and program development with principals, supervisors, and department chairpersons for initiating curricular improvements meeting students' needs.
Observe established policies of the district and school; make recommendations for changes in policies when advisable.
Confer with students and parents as needed.
Involve the students and parents, when feasible, in progress updates and completing units of study.
Evaluate student progress, issue grades and reports; prepare, record and report class attendance.
Handle discipline problems within and conduct parent conferences as needed;
Supervise approved helpers.
Perform other duties assigned by the Principal.
Functional Responsibilities
Facilitate collaboration between credit recovery and teachers as needed to ensure standards are met and best practices are aligned.
Work collaboratively with counselors to update credit recovery description within the course guide, ensuring that all online curriculum guidelines are met.
Train, assess and facilitate the creation and updating of credit recovery aligned online curriculum.
Coordinate the enrollment of students into credit recovery courseware.
Create and coordinate training and staff development on credit recovery software and policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Knowledge and Skills
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills in order to relate to students, parents, staff, administrators, and community.
Ability to negotiate effective working relationships, and develop position resolutions to conflict.
Strong organization skills in order to manage multiple issues simultaneously combined with ability to effectively prioritize.
Ability to work independently and within a team while maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Ability to communicate electronically. Possess highly developed technology skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Valid Ohio Teacher's license or eligible to receive a valid Ohio Teacher's license.
Experience:
Professional experience in the employment discipline with professional, technical, and experience requirements. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
