Aquatic Center Supervisor

Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatic Center Supervisor and/or Water Park Manager, provide supervision around pools, water features, slides, and assist other areas of the water park as assigned, as well as maintain equipment, help with events, and tend to general tidiness of support areas of the Monroe Aquatic and Fitness Center.
This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, and some medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, peripheral vision, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, noise, hazards, and atmospheric conditions. The worker may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks

Enforces all aquatic center rules, regulations and policies during patron's use of the water park.
Maintain order at the top of the water slides, around the water features, and deck areas.
Assists with daily cleaning and maintenance of the water park.
Completes records and reports as required. Inform supervisor of daily operational needs, problems, and member feedback.
Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

General knowledge of water safety rules, first aid practices and techniques; general knowledge of the cleaning and maintenance requirements for large pools and related equipment and supplies; ability to enforce rules and to remain calm under stress; ability to clean and maintain a swimming pool and related facilities; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and must be at least 18 years of age per labor law standards for height requirement of 10 feet or greater.
Special Requirements

Possession of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
