Grinding Specialist (Cylindrical Grinder III)
Nesco Resource is looking for an experienced Grinding Specialist to support our client's precision manufacturing operations in Elmira, NY. If you're a skilled machinist with expertise in cylindrical or surface grinding and are looking for a high-quality, long-term opportunitythis is the job for you. As a Grinding Specialist (Cylindrical Grinder III), Senior level machinist, you will operate and set up high-precision grinding equipment to produce tight-tolerance parts. You'll work independently in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment, helping deliver critical components to the client's manufacturing process. Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd Shifts Pay Rate: $32.00
$38.00/hour Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate cylindrical and surface grinders for tight-tolerance work
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T specifications, and work instructions
Use precision tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections for accuracy and quality
Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues as needed
Maintain a safe, clean work area in line with company and OSHA standards
Accurately document production activities and complete job routers
Support and mentor junior team members as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
5 years of experience in high-precision grinding operations
Strong working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
Proven ability to consistently hold tight tolerances (0.0002 ")
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
Ability to work independently and lift up to 30 lbs
