
Assistant Production Planner

Role Purpose:
To plan and provision or control raw and semi-finish stock for customer orders which best utilizes semi-finish and finished goods that will result in the timely manufacture of these products which will develop and maintain high standard of customer service both internally and externally.

Education: 2 yr. associate's degree (P), or equivalent planning experience (P)
Experience: 2 + yr. Warehouse or Manufacturing Planning (P), Planning / Scheduling / Productions Control (P), Manufacturing (P)

Accountabilities for the Role:
Be aware of and practice, 100%, all safety procedures throughout the plant
Receive, systematically, material within 24 hours of physical receipt
Plan, route, audit and issue maximum amount of material available within planning guidelines
Provide backup coverage for other areas assigned including Production Planning Manager
Work changes, back orders, cancellations and shippers within 24 hours of receipt
Answer inquiries within 24 hours of receipt
Continually assist in the development, updating and streamlining of base routings
Continually assist in the development and streamlining of current systems
Keep department informed of special procedures, changes or new developments in base routings, a specific customer, specification or product
