Position Summary
The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources function with a focus on certified payroll, EEO/compliance reporting, and general HR administrative support. This role assists with maintaining accurate records, meeting reporting deadlines, and supporting day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn, with the ability to grow into expanded responsibilities as the organization continues to scale.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with
certified payroll
processing and reporting for multiple projects, including OJT tracking and prime contract requirements
Support
EEO, compliance, and workforce reporting , ensuring accuracy and timely submissions to agencies and clients
Perform
timecard and timesheet reconciliation
and assist with payroll data validation
Process and track
Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
and maintain compliance documentation
Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy within HR and payroll systems
Provide general
HR administrative support , including document preparation, tracking deadlines, and responding to internal requests
Coordinate internally with payroll, operations, and project teams to gather required information
Assist with audits, special reports, and other compliance-related requests as needed
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage
high-volume, detail-driven work
Organized, dependable, and able to
manage deadlines
across multiple projects
Basic understanding of payroll, HR, or compliance concepts (training provided)
Comfortable learning new systems, processes, and regulatory requirements
Proficient in
Excel and basic office software
Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions and learn
Preferred / Trainable Attributes
Interest in HR, payroll, or compliance functions
Ability to grow into expanded responsibilities as the company continues to scale
Willingness to be trained internally and through state or district-provided programs
