Job Summary
The Parts Logistics Coordinator supports a fleet of prototype heavy-duty diesel and electric trucks by managing parts inventory, shipping and receiving, and tool crib operations. This role helps technicians and engineers keep vehicles in service by making sure the right parts are available, tracked accurately, and staged for scheduled work. The position also supports powertrain-related repairs and logistics activities in a shop and office environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and coordinate overseas shipments, including required documentation and packaging.
Maintain accurate inventory records for parts, quantities, and units of measure.
Allocate parts for powertrain repairs based on work order needs.
Investigate and resolve inventory shortages and discrepancies.
Keep the powertrain parts area clean, organized, and clearly labeled.
Manage the tool crib and track general tools used by the team.
Close work orders and update internal parts tracking systems, including SAP.
Maintain accurate inventory as parts are added to stock, installed on test trucks, or removed from test trucks.
Create move orders for parts removed from trucks and for new parts being shipped to other locations.
Load and unload trailers transporting parts and large components.
Manage storage and organization of parts in the designated reliability growth building.
Pull and stage parts in advance of scheduled work to improve technician efficiency.
Support powertrain-related work involving engines, exhaust after-treatment systems, transmissions, axles, and related components.
Communicate clearly with technicians, engineers, and team members to coordinate parts needs and logistics.
Qualifications
Required
Experience with SAP or SAP ERP for inventory tracking and parts management.
Experience in logistics, shipping, and inventory control.
Stand-up forklift experience, proficiency, and certification.
Experience working in a shop, automotive, or similar parts environment.
Ability to support parts ordering, kitting, and cycle counts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Comfort working around heavy-duty trucks, mechanical components, and shop equipment.
Preferred
Experience creating Haz Mat bill of lading paperwork for large high-voltage vehicle batteries.
Familiarity with powertrain-related components and repair environments.
Additional experience with electrical, mechanical, repair, cabling, installation, diagrams, flashing, software, Python, Jira, or ECU-related work.
Work Environment or Schedule
On-site role in a combined shop and office environment, primarily in the shop.
Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 8 hours per day on non-holidays.
Shift may begin earlier than 7:00 AM, but not later.
Work includes inventory management, desk-based system updates, loading and unloading parts, and supporting vehicle testing operations.
The role supports a fleet operating around the clock, with vehicles coming into the facility multiple times per day for maintenance and hardware changes.
