Director of Nursing (DON)
We are searching for an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team at The Plaza Assisted Living. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership attributes to provide clinical oversight and supervision to our nursing and care staff team members. The DON is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall functions of our nursing departments in accordance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.
Responsibilities
Plan, implement and supervise the nursing department.
Interview, hire, supervise, evaluate, and counsel resident care staff.
Conduct regular on‑going staff meetings and in‑services.
Establish or delegate time schedules for resident care staff on each shift, in accordance with budget.
Assure prompt and appropriate action in cases of injury, illness, fire, or other emergencies.
Perform or delegate assessments with the Administrator and marketing staff for each prospective resident before admission.
Assign residents to appropriate levels of care and ensure re‑assessments within regulatory and policy timelines.
Keep physicians, families, and resident representatives apprised of changes in resident condition and hold care conferences consistently.
Job Details
Shifts available: 40+ hours per week; must be available on call 24/7, as needed.
Starting salary: $90,000 annual; negotiable based on related prior experience.
