Key Responsibilities:
Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting therapy treatments to enhance patient mobility and physical health.
Help patients perform exercises and follow treatment plans, monitoring their progress to ensure successful recovery.
Encourage and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
Teach self-care activities and skills to patients with disabilities or recovery needs.
Support injured employees in improving motor skills for workforce reintegration.
Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on techniques to assist ongoing treatment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of treatment areas and equipment.
Required Skills:
Proven ability to follow treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate and educate patients.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills.
Basic knowledge of therapeutic exercises and activities.
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or certification.
Previous experience working with elderly or disabled populations.
Relevant clinical or hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work weekdays during daytime hours.
Valid licensure or certification as a COTA.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
Willingness to travel for certification or licensure reimbursements if applicable.
