Account Clerk I (1st Posting)
Responsible for properly performing accounting functions - data entry, shredding, properly discarding data seven years and older, filing and financial activities related to the Finance Department as necessary.
Essential duties and responsibilities include scanning financial documents, properly discarding financial data seven years and older, overseeing coordination with departments for monthly shredding with an external vendor, filing, and maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record. Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.
Qualification requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with data entry, calculator use, computers, and Microsoft Office programs. Preference is given to experience in various office duties and a proven work record in previous positions. Ability to pay close attention to detail, work independently, maintain confidentiality, and be computer-literate.
Criminal background minimum requirements include no convictions or pending unresolved charges related to sex offenses, felony convictions, gambling, theft, fraud, misrepresentation, crimes of violence, domestic violence, or drug offenses within the immediately preceding two years. In addition, employees must meet the minimum criminal background requirements necessary to obtain a gaming license as stated in Menominee Tribal Code Chapter 347 and the Tribal Gaming Compact.
Language skills include the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members. Mathematical skills include the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations. Reasoning ability includes the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, and perform various other physical activities. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is usually mild with a noise level that is usually mild.
