Salary: $95,000–$105,000

Accounting Supervisor Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable and bank activity

  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Maintain general ledger chart of accounts and prepare trial balances

  • Prepare, analyze, and review quarterly and year‑end financial statements

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles (SAP), and insurance regulations

  • Support statutory reporting requirements, including Workers’ Compensation and state insurance filings

  • Assist with year‑end audit preparation and coordination

  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets

  • Identify process improvements and recommend efficiency enhancements

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and development for accounting staff


Accounting Supervisor Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within insurance, financial services, or a regulated industry

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP; statutory accounting experience preferred

  • Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Prior supervisory or team‑lead experience

  • High proficiency with accounting systems and Excel

  • Property & Casualty or Workers’ Compensation insurance experience strongly preferred
