Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 remote)
Salary: $80,000-90,000 + comprehensive benefits
Overview
Our client, a large, mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a Grant Accounting Supervisor to support a growing portfolio of government-funded programs. This is a high-impact role offering strong visibility to executive leadership and the opportunity to contribute to initiatives focused on housing, homelessness prevention, and community development.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee financial reporting and billing for a diverse government grant portfolio
Ensure timely, accurate submissions in compliance with city and funder requirements
Manage budgeting, financial controls, and reimbursement processes to optimize funding
Supervise and mentor a team of three, driving performance and development
Partner with senior leadership to support audits, reporting, and strategic initiatives
Identify and implement process improvements across accounting workflows
Qualifications
Strong experience in nonprofit and/or government grant accounting
Proven ability to manage deadlines and produce accurate financial reports
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Prior supervisory experience is a plus but not required
