Our client, a growing and stable manufacturing organization in the Kalamazoo area, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role works closely with internal departments to ensure proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

  Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation

  
  


• 
  

  Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments

  
  


• 
  

  Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  
  


• 
  

  Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and payment terms

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals

  
  


• 
  

  Support 1099 preparation and reporting

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  
  


• 
  

  2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with full-cycle AP processing

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
