Salary: $50,000 – $75,000 annually




Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations during a period of stabilization and systems transition. This role is primarily project-based and will focus on payroll cleanup, reconciliations, and year-end support following several years of organizational turnover. The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in preparing payroll and benefits data for a future HRIS implementation.


Key Responsibilities




  • Support accurate and timely payroll processing across recurring pay cycles




  • Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve historical discrepancies




  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and compliance requirements




  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and discretion




  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure payroll accuracy and deadline adherence




  • Support cleanup and documentation of payroll and benefits data




  • Partner with HR and Finance to prepare for HRIS and benefits system migration




Project Scope




  • Payroll processing coverage




  • Payroll and reconciliation cleanup

Qualifications




  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar payroll-focused role




  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems and payroll reporting




  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and best practices




  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills




  • Ability to work independently in a high-change environment




  • Trusted track record of accuracy, discretion, and reliability
