Billing Specialist
Location: Fully On Site in Indianapolis, IN
A growing construction company is seeking a Billing Specialist with strong AIA billing experience to join their accounting team. The Billing Specialist will play a critical role in managing project billings, ensuring accuracy, and supporting timely revenue recognition.
The ideal Billing Specialist understands the construction billing cycle, is highly detail-oriented, and has hands-on experience with AIA progress billings.
Responsibilities of the Billing Specialist:
Prepare and process AIA progress billings (G702/G703 forms)
Manage schedule of values and track project progress for accurate invoicing
Work closely with project managers to gather billing details and approvals
Submit owner billings and ensure compliance with contract requirements
Track retainage, change orders, and lien waivers
Reconcile billed amounts to the general ledger
Follow up on outstanding payments in coordination with accounts receivable
Maintain organized project billing documentation
Qualifications for the Billing Specialist:
3+ years of construction billing experience
Strong hands-on experience with AIA billing (required)
Knowledge of retainage, change orders, and progress billing processes
Experience working with project managers and operations teams
Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
