Responsibilities of the Controller:

• Lead the accounting function supporting a portfolio of properties
• Direct and develop the Accounting Manager and oversee property accounting teams
• Own the month‑end and year‑end close process
• Oversee financial reporting for regulated programs
• Partner closely with the CFO on annual budgeting and financial planning
• Evaluate existing accounting workflows and lead initiatives to streamline processes and improve close timelines
• Drive change by challenging legacy practices and guiding teams through process improvements
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across property‑level financials
• Leverage Yardi to enhance reporting, efficiency, and data integrity

Qualifications of the Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
•5+ years of accounting leadership experience, ideally within property management, real estate, or construction environments
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, close management, and regulated housing programs
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management accounting systems preferred
