Staff Accountant
Location: Washougal, WA
Salary: $32-35/hour

About the Role

This Staff Accountant role is structured with a clear focus, about 70% of your time will be dedicated to managing the full accounts payable cycle, while the remaining 30% involves supporting accounts receivable, reconciliation work, and journal entries. You will be working closely with a Controller who values accuracy and a steady, reliable approach to daily operations.

Job Duties

• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, and timely payment runs.


• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and resolve any billing discrepancies.


• Handle accounts receivable tasks such as generating customer invoices and posting incoming payments accurately.


• Perform monthly credit card reconciliations and ensure all receipts are properly documented and coded.


• Reconcile various balance sheet accounts to ensure data integrity.


• Prepare and post standard journal entries to support the month-end close process.


• Monitor aging reports to ensure both payables and receivables are staying current.


• Assist with year-end audit preparation by providing necessary documentation and schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.


• 2 to 4 years of accounting experience.


• Experience with mid-market ERP systems is a plus.


• A grounded, professional attitude and the ability to work well within a small team.


• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both internal departments and external vendors.
