OVERVIEW OF THE MEDICAL BILLING/AR SPECIALIST ROLE:
Our client is seeking a Medical Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day billing operations and payment processing. This role is responsible for submitting claims, applying payments, and ensuring accuracy across patient accounts within a fast-paced medical office environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with medical billing experience who enjoys both transactional work and problem-solving within revenue cycle processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MEDICAL BILLING/AR SPECIALIST:
- Submit and process medical claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Apply patient and insurance payments to appropriate accounts
- The Medical Billing/AR Specialist will review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing discrepancies
- Follow up on outstanding balances and insurance claims
- Maintain accurate patient account records and documentation
- Communicate with insurance providers regarding claim status and issues
- Support AR aging review and collections efforts as needed
- Assist with general billing and revenue cycle tasks within the practice
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE MEDICAL BILLING/AR SPECIALIST ROLE:
- Prior experience in medical billing and/or accounts receivable required
- Experience working in a healthcare or physician office setting preferred
- Familiarity with insurance billing processes and claim submission
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account management
- Ability to communicate professionally with patients and insurance representatives
- Experience with medical billing software preferred
