Service Clerk

Service Clerk assist the service manager and service department through various tasks and duties. They also have other responsibilities that support the entire store, such as payroll, accounting duties, and fielding customer inquiries. Service Clerks should have a strong ability to multitask and have a high attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Answer customer phone calls and provide assistance or direct call to the proper department
Keep track of payroll hours, vacation pay, and holiday pay for employees
Process customer payments, update customer account information, balance transactions, and other accounting duties as assigned
Oversee the Lawn & Garden scheduling (including pick up/delivery and work orders for technicians)
Open work orders and add segments as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintains control until they are closed and invoiced
May process warranty claims and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission, and follow-up
Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the service department
Pull parts for service technicians and help the parts department as needed
May prepare service technician efficiency reports
Maintain service department filing and records
Maintain store supplies and place replacement orders as needed
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Basic knowledge of accounting practices is preferred
General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Ability to use desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, internet functions, and dealer business system
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and have a high attention to detail
Ability to work in a team and independently
Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license
Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employment

Pay Information:
The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
In Season Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm (rotation) Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm *In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store. Extended Hours are determined by the needs of the store and subject to change. * *Off season hours are from November-March. Start and end date to winter hours is dependent on year and subject to change. *
