Manufacturing Helper

The Manufacturing Helper supports production operations by assisting painters, machine operators, and welders with general labor tasks and safe material handling. This role helps keep the production floor running smoothly by performing a variety of hands-on duties, including moving materials with a pallet jack and using basic hand tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
Assist painters, machine operators, and welders with day-to-day production and general labor tasks.
Use a pallet jack to safely transport materials and products throughout the facility.
Support production activities such as basic assembly and machine operation under supervision.
Handle materials and components manually, including lifting and moving items up to 45 lbs. repeatedly.
Use hand tools safely and correctly to support various production and assembly tasks.
Follow verbal and written directions accurately to complete assigned work.
Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and report issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on the production floor.
Essential Skills
Ability to follow directions accurately and complete tasks as instructed.
Effective verbal communication skills to work with painters, operators, welders, and other team members.
Capability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. repetitively throughout the shift.
Basic experience with general labor in a production or manufacturing environment.
Comfort using hand tools for simple tasks and adjustments.
Ability to safely operate a pallet jack to move materials.
Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Warehouse experience welcomed!
Experience in production, manufacturing, or assembly environments.
Familiarity with basic machine operation in a production setting.
Previous experience operating a forklift is a plus.
Experience in general labor roles supporting multiple departments is beneficial.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and manufacturing environment with active painters, machine operators, and welders working on the floor. The position follows set shift schedules, with a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift from 3:30 p.m. to midnight. Work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive lifting up to 45 lbs., and using equipment such as pallet jacks, hand tools, and production machinery. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
