
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager – Manufacturing (Augusta)

We are seeking an experienced
EHS Manager
to lead environmental, health, safety, and site security programs within a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who is passionate about building a strong safety culture, driving compliance, and partnering with plant leadership to create a safer, more efficient workplace.
This individual will play a key role in supporting site operations, leading training and compliance initiatives, improving safety performance, and ensuring the facility maintains a proactive, best-in-class approach to environmental and workplace safety.
What you’ll do
Lead and strengthen sitewide environmental, health, safety, and security programs
Partner with plant leadership to build and sustain a strong safety-first culture
Develop, implement, and improve safety initiatives, training programs, and compliance processes
Coach leaders and employees on safe work practices, hazard awareness, and incident prevention
Oversee audits, inspections, observations, and corrective action follow-up
Lead incident and accident investigations and drive robust corrective actions
Manage safety records, written programs, SOPs, reports, and compliance documentation
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and internal EHS standards
Support key safety programs including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined space, fall protection, fire prevention, powered industrial trucks, driver certification, and emergency response
Oversee workers’ compensation coordination and partner with HR and external providers on case management and return-to-work support
Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and maintain accurate environmental and safety data
Respond to site incidents and emergencies as needed
Drive continuous improvement efforts that reduce risk, improve performance, and strengthen overall site culture
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or high-volume production environment
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, workers’ compensation, hazard identification, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance
Experience leading safety training, audits, inspections, and corrective action programs
Proven ability to influence site leaders and coach employees at all levels
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with operations, HR, and leadership teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic reporting/tracking systems
CSP or CHST certification preferred
