Job Summary
We are seeking a
Tool Designer / CAD Engineer
with strong experience in
softgoods prototype development
and CAD design. The role involves supporting product development through prototyping, material selection, and manufacturability analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute
softgoods prototypes
aligned with design requirements
Create and refine
2D patterns from 3D CAD models
Perform
cut-and-sew trials
and optimize construction (seams, stitching, materials)
Support
EVT/DVT builds
and prototype iterations
Conduct
DFM/DFx analysis
for manufacturability and scalability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers
Support
prototype testing and validation
Required Skills
Hands-on experience in
softgoods (textiles, silicone, polymers, leather)
Strong knowledge of
pattern engineering and 2D pattern creation
Experience with
cut-and-sew techniques
Knowledge of
DFM/DFx and prototype development cycles (EVT/DVT)
Experience with
CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Rhino, AutoCAD)
Ability to integrate
hardware components into softgoods
Preferred Skills
Experience in
validation testing (tensile, tear, abrasion, etc.)
Strong collaboration and communication skills
