
Manager, DevOps (Burlington)

Aware is a global leading provider of biometrics software products, solutions, and services to empower users to own and control their identity while ensuring security and maximizing convenience. We are seeking an experienced Manager of DevOps to lead and scale our DevOps function. This role is responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and operational reliability. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with people leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers
Define and execute the DevOps roadmap aligned with engineering and business goals
Promote DevOps best practices, automation, and a culture of reliability and ownership
Partner with Engineering, Security, and Product teams to support delivery and scalability
Oversee cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code practices
Ensure systems are scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective
Manage environments across development, staging, and production
Own CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments
Drive automation across build, test, deployment, and monitoring workflows
Improve developer experience and deployment velocity
Establish SRE-style practices including SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets
Ensure robust monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response processes
Partner with Security to implement DevSecOps practices and compliance requirements
Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems
Manage on-call rotations and operational readiness
Continuously improve system performance, uptime, and resiliency
Note: In addition to the Job Responsibilities, the candidate also performs similar work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
2+ years of people management or technical leadership experience
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals
Excellent communication and management skills
Salary Range is $130,000 - $165,000 and will be dependent on experience.
