This role is responsible for leading and executing a national construction portfolio. This is a hands-on individual contributor position without direct reports, overseeing the full lifecycle of each project and ensuring efficiency, consistency, and clear communication across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full construction lifecycle for ground up builds and major expansion projects across the United States, working with a network of general contractors and service providers
• Act as a central point of coordination for the real estate team, partnering closely with Facilities, Equipment, Legal, and Real Estate Portfolio Management to align projects with broader asset strategy
• Work alongside the Legal team to review, negotiate, and finalize construction contracts with a focus on mitigating risk and securing favorable terms
• Establish and monitor detailed project timelines to keep all phases, including permitting, foundation, dry in, and completion, on track and within budget
• Utilize digital tools and reporting to provide real time visibility into project status for internal stakeholders, including Operations Managers and hospital leadership
• Ensure all clinical and operational requirements are met, including medical gas systems, lead shielding, specialized HVAC systems, and medical grade finishes
Qualifications:
Must be based in or near St. Louis, Missouri
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field
7 to 10 or more years of commercial construction management experience, including managing ground up projects across multiple states
Comfortable operating in a fully hands on role, managing both administrative responsibilities and project execution independently
Strong understanding of construction documents, development processes, and scheduling, with working knowledge of engineering and legal documentation
Experience using digital tools to track data, improve efficiency, and generate clear reporting for leadership
Ability to succeed in a fast paced, high growth environment with strong communication skills across all levels of an organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD, and project management software
Willing and able to travel approximately 30 to 40 percent and work on active construction sites in varying outdoor conditions
