Express Pros - Fitchburg is currently conducting a search for a Buyer / Planner for a client located in Verona.
This is a direct hire placement with a growing manufacturing company that offers advancement opportunities and full benefits package.
Summary:
This individual is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. They Buyer Planner will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze messages from the ERP system and place orders in a timely manner.
- Manage suppliers to reduce costs, improve quality, control inventories, and ensure timely flow of material.
- Monitor and report key performance metrics, including Purchase Price Variance, inventories, shortages, and supplier performance.
- Develop thorough working knowledge of assigned commodities and associated supplier base.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of required ERP system.
- Bring Ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
- Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary.
- Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
Qualifications:
Seeking candidates with 2 - 5 years of experience in supply chain
Previous experience with low volume purchasing, vendor relationships and price negotiations
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Previous ERP software experience
Schedule: Full - time in office role, generally 7am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri
Pay: BOE $60 - $80k annual. Company offers full benefits package
