The Student Experience Associate role in the Texas McCombs MBA for Working Professionals Student Affairs team is responsible for assisting a Senior Academic Program Coordinator in the execution of weekend class sessions, coordinating academic and community-building events, and fostering student development. This role manages several key aspects of program operations, including procurement, travel and reimbursements, program communications, and supports a positive and growth-oriented community through building trusted relationships with students, faculty, cross-functional team members and internal/external vendors.
Program Operations
Coordinate the procurement and distribution of course materials.
Assist in organizing remote class weekends and events.
Manage documentation for travel arrangements and reimbursements.
Stay informed on UT and McCombs purchasing guidelines.
Maintain student email distribution lists.
Student Affairs
Offer problem‑solving assistance and resource referrals to students.
Develop and distribute weekly program updates via Canvas and email.
Triage email inquiries and communicate findings.
Support the execution of class weekends and program events such as orientation, student organization activities, and graduation.
Cultivate relationships with faculty, students, and vendors.
Strategic Initiatives
Provide feedback on current processes and support planning of process improvements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of administrative assistant experience, or high school graduation with five years of clerical experience.
Service-minded approach; attention to detail; innovative problem‑solving; collaborative attitude.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other common office technology.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and conduct in‑state travel.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2‑3 years of experience performing complex administrative functions in an academic environment.
Knowledge of university procurement and payment policies.
Experience with event planning.
Experience working with graduate student populations and self‑supporting degree programs.
Salary Range
$45,000
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions with repetitive keyboard use.
Extended hours and travel to support weekend classes.
Position is based in Austin, TX.
