We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Mobile Heavy Equipment Technician to join our field service team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentincluding cranes, bulldozers, excavators, and gradersat various job sites. The ideal candidate combines expert technical knowledge with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Site Diagnostics: Travel to client locations to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and hydraulic failures on heavy machinery.Hydraulic Systems Repair: Specialized repair of hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses. Must be able to read and interpret hydraulic schematics.Engine & Powertrain Service: Perform overhaul and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, and final drives.Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and "find-and-fix" maintenance to prevent equipment downtime.Welding & Fabrication: Perform minor welding or fabrication repairs on equipment frames or attachments as needed.Documentation: Maintain accurate service reports, parts orders, and time records using digital field service management software.Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Expertise: Deep understanding of mobile heavy equipment (Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, etc.) and advanced hydraulic systems.Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency with digital diagnostic laptops and pressure testing equipment.Drivers License: Valid CDL (Class A or B) often preferred, with a clean driving record for operating a service truck.Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).Work EnvironmentField-Based: This is a mobile position. You will operate a fully equipped service vehicle and spend the majority of your time outdoors at construction, mining, or agricultural sites.Autonomy: Requires a professional who can manage their own schedule and communicate directly with customers to explain repairs and timelines.
