EDEP Assistant – Extended Day Enrichment Program / After School at Mountain View Primary
2026-27 School Year, Part‑time 4 hrs/day, 10 months/year

Overview

Responsibilities

Assists the teacher with daily tasks;

Instructs students in preplanned activities as required;

Assists with any activity and special event as needed;

Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relations with ASEP staff and school staff;

Exhibits positive public relations;

Upholds school rules, policies, and procedures;

Prepares and distributes snacks as needed;

Provides care for students in all EDEP venues (Student Holiday, Spring Break and Inclement Weather programs);

Participates in EDEP programs (After School Program, Student Holiday, Spring Break and Inclement Weather programs) as assigned;

Maintains a safe work environment;

Establishes and maintains high standards of behavior;

Attends required and assigned training sessions;

Exhibits dependable work habits;

Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward disabled students; willing to learn specialized instructional/management techniques employed with disabled students; ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff; must be a high school graduate or hold equivalence of a high school diploma and be willing to seek and maintain CPR certification.

Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school including basic keyboard and filing training. Training in Basic First Aid.

Physical Conditions and Nature of Work
Duties performed typically in school settings such as the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned spaces; frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and other limited physical activities are required; occasional travel with students on field trips; frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required; occasional lifting of equipment such as audio‑visuals weighing up to 50 pounds may be required; daily personal and close contact with children and ASEP staff members is required to provide an effective learning environment.
