Vacation in the Park Teacher

Position Summary
The Vacation in the Park Event Teacher supports the planning and facilitation of the Lakeview School District’s “Vacation in the Park” event on June 24 at Prairieview Elementary. This role focuses on creating and leading engaging, travel-themed experiences that promote exploration, learning, and fun for elementary students and families.
Funding Source
This position is funded under Section 31a At-Risk, therefore all job responsibilities and duties are aligned with the Section 31 At-Risk Program’s Intent and Purposes, specifically to provide supplementary support to children who are failing or most at risk of failing to meet the district's core academic curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and organize vacation/travel-themed activities appropriate for elementary students.
Prepare and manage materials and supplies for interactive stations (e.g., cultural activities, games, or “travel” experiences).
Set up and facilitate activities during the event on June 24.
Engage students and families in inclusive, hands‑on learning experiences.
Support event logistics, including setup, transitions, and cleanup.
Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all participants.
Qualifications
Current Lakeview School District teacher.
Interest or experience in thematic or experiential learning preferred.
Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
Experience with elementary age children preferred.
Effective summative rating on most recent evaluation preferred.
Time Commitment
Includes preparation time prior to June 24 and participation during the event.
Approximately 5-10 hours total.
Compensation
$37.53 / hour
