Position Summary
The Agriculture in the Park Event Paraeducator supports the planning and facilitation of the Lakeview School District’s “Agriculture in the Park” event on July 22 at Riverside Elementary. This role focuses on creating and leading engaging, hands‑on agriculture and nature‑based experiences that promote learning, exploration, and fun for elementary students and families.
Funding Source
This position is funded under Section 31a At‑Risk, therefore all job responsibilities and duties are aligned with the Section 31 At‑Risk Program’s Intent and Purposes, specifically to provide supplementary support to children who are failing or most at risk of failing to meet the district's core academic curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and organize interactive, age‑appropriate agriculture-themed activities (e.g., plants, farming, food systems, nature exploration)
Prepare and manage materials and supplies for outdoor learning stations
Set up and facilitate activities during the event on July 22
Engage students and families in hands‑on, experiential learning opportunities
Support event logistics, including setup, transitions, and cleanup
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants
Qualifications
Current Lakeview School District paraeducator
Interest or experience in science instruction or STEM programming preferred
Strong organizational and facilitation skills
Experience with elementary‑age children preferred
Effective summative rating on most recent evaluation preferred
Time Commitment
Includes preparation time prior to July 22 and participation during the event
Approximately 10 – 20 hours total
