The Temporary Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Department by assisting skilled technicians with routine inspections, minor repairs, and general upkeep of facilities. This position is ideal for individuals seeking hands‑on experience in building maintenance and operations.
Responsibilities
Assist maintenance technicians with room inspections, identifying maintenance needs, and documenting findings
Support furniture assembly, installation, and relocation across facilities
Perform painting tasks, including surface preparation, priming, and finishing
Help with basic maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and making minor repairs
Move materials, tools, and equipment as needed for maintenance projects
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas, shops, and storage spaces
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing assigned tasks
Provide general labor support for special projects and work orders
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
Basic knowledge of hand tools and general maintenance practices is a plus
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
This is a temporary position with flexible hours that may vary based on departmental needs. The role is intended to provide support during peak workload periods and does not guarantee permanent employment.
