
Facilities Support Technician - Evenings

Description
Supports the day-to-day operation of the hospital by performing light maintenance, floor care, and general facilities support. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and patient-focused environment while providing cross-functional support across Facilities and Environmental Services as needed. This role is full time evenings working 3pm-11:30pm and alternate weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Performs light maintenance tasks, including minor repairs to doors, locks, furniture, plumbing fixtures, and wall surfaces.
Replaces basic facility components such as light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and air filters.
Completes assigned work orders through the ticketing system, documenting completed work and communicating status updates as required.
Conducts routine facility inspections and identifies, reports, or addresses deficiencies and safety concerns.
Supports room setups, furniture moves, and space adjustments for patient care and administrative areas.
Maintains proper appearance of grounds, including keeping walkways and parking areas clear of debris, snow, and ice.
Performs floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, auto-scrubbing, and basic maintenance of floor surfaces.
Operates floor care equipment safely and effectively, supporting advanced floor care activities as needed.
Performs upholstery and furniture cleaning to maintain cleanliness and appearance throughout the facility.
Uses approved cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures.
Adheres to all safety, infection prevention, and compliance standards while performing assigned duties.
Responds to service requests in a timely and patient-focused manner.
Assists with emergency response procedures as directed, including participation in drills and evacuation support.
Provides coverage for Environmental Services functions, including housekeeping and laundry tasks, during staffing gaps, absences, or high-volume periods.
Supports floor tech responsibilities, including operation of specialized equipment, as needed to maintain continuity of operations.
Assists with general operational needs across Facilities and Environmental Services as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education and Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in facilities maintenance, environmental services, or related field preferred.
Experience operating tools, equipment, or floor care machinery preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and use hand tools safely.
Ability to operate cleaning, floor care, and maintenance equipment effectively.
Ability to follow procedures and complete assigned work orders through a ticketing system.
Basic understanding of safety practices, cleaning methods, and facility operations.
Ability to work independently and adjust to changing priorities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
