
Docketing Clerk

Strategic Legal Practices is seeking a full-time Legal Docketing Clerk with a minimum of 3‑5 years prior work experience performing calendaring duties at a law firm. This position will be responsible for calendaring case deadlines for various courts and jurisdictions, reviewing documents in order to calculate deadlines, and preparing reports capturing accurate events and deadlines pursuant to applicable rules.
Responsibilities
Manage the calendaring and tracking of litigation deadlines across various court jurisdictions.
Review and analyze incoming legal documents to identify and compute applicable deadlines.
Prepare and distribute reports on upcoming critical dates for attorneys and support staff.
Maintain and update docketing systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules.
Assist with the preparation of legal documents and correspondence as needed.
Communicate proactively with attorneys regarding critical deadlines and any necessary follow‑up.
Provide general administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing case files.
Qualifications
3–5 years of litigation docketing or legal calendaring experience
in a law firm setting (required)
Strong knowledge of both
state and federal court rules, deadlines, and procedures
Proficiency with
PACER
and online court databases
Experience with legal calendar and docketing software (e.g., CompuLaw, Aderant, or similar)
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
and document management systems
Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of personal accountability
Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and prioritize effectively under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with partners, attorneys, and legal assistants
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment
