
Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the execution of fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and development operations. This position ensures the smooth implementation of annual giving campaigns, donor communications, and data management processes that drive revenue and strengthen donor relationships.
This is a highly detail-oriented, execution-focused role that supports the Development team by managing logistics, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring a high-quality donor experience.
Annual Giving & Campaign Execution
Support the planning and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including appeals, digital campaigns, and giving days
Coordinate campaign timelines, materials, and internal communications
Assist in the creation and distribution of donor communications in collaboration with Marketing
Track campaign progress and provide updates on performance metrics
Donor Stewardship & Engagement
Manage donor acknowledgements, thank-you letters, and recognition processes in a timely and accurate manner
Support donor events, including invitations, RSVPs, logistics, and follow-up communications
Assist in implementing donor stewardship strategies to enhance retention and engagement
Ensure consistent and positive donor experiences across all touchpoints
CRM & Data Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in CRM systems
Enter gifts, pledges, and donor interactions in a timely manner
Generate routine and ad hoc reports on fundraising performance, donor activity, and campaign results
Support data integrity initiatives and ensure compliance with data standards and best practices
Administrative Support
Assist with prospect research and donor pipeline development
Support scheduling of donor meetings and internal development activities
Coordinate mailings, materials, and general administrative tasks related to fundraising efforts
Provide logistical support for development-related projects and initiatives
Provide administrative support in drafting, formatting, and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the development team
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing, Events, Education, and Guest Services to support integrated fundraising efforts
Ensure alignment between donor communications and organizational messaging
Support internal coordination of development initiatives across departments
Required Qualifications (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined education and experience (Preferred)
1‑3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, administration, or related field (Preferred)
Experience supporting campaigns, events, or donor engagement activities (Preferred)
Familiarity with CRM/database systems (Preferred)
Experience with Blackbaud Altru or similar donor management systems (Preferred)
Experience in a nonprofit, museum, or cultural institution (Preferred)
Exposure to fundraising campaigns, donor relations, or event coordination (Preferred)
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Strong customer service mindset and ability to interact positively with donors and stakeholders
Analytical skills with ability to track and interpret data

Compensation and Benefits
The hiring for this position is $23.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market factors. This position is part‑time with the potential to go full‑time.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and organization performance.
