Job Summary
Equipment Operator, Sub-Journey 1 – Anchorage International Airport, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT & PF). Responsible for operating light trucks, tractors, hand and power tools to support airport maintenance and operations. This role serves Alaska residents only.

Responsibilities

Operate light trucks and small tractors to transport supplies and materials for airport maintenance.

Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring equipment and cargo are secured.

Perform manual labor such as clearing ditches and culverts, trimming brush, and contributing to bridge and structure repairs.

Erect and maintain signs and markers to aid navigation across airport grounds.

Shovel snow from sidewalks, runway edge lights, and aircraft operating areas during adverse weather.

Maintain groundskeeping duties as needed to ensure visual appeal.

Assist emergency crews during incidents, providing support and expertise.

The position is located at Anchorage International Airport. Employees maintain and improve critical transportation infrastructure in extreme weather conditions, ensuring safety and operational continuity across one of the state’s most critical transportation hubs.
